The referee showed a yellow card. Earlier, in the 16th minute, Văn Sơn of Thành phố Đồng Nai delivered a cynical hit on Đình Bắc and received a straight red card. The home side were reduced to ten men. Công An Hà Nội exploited the numerical advantage, scored three goals and fully controlled the match. When the score was already 3-0, there was no tactical reason for Tấn Sinh to charge at Đình Bắc, a player who no longer had the ball within reach. That does not justify the decision. There is another reading. Tấn Sinh may have been going for the ball rather than Đình Bắc; the yellow card was enough because the home player did not suffer a serious injury; the referee had a better viewing angle than fans watching on screen. These arguments make sense if each kick is examined separately. But when the two kicks are combined into one sequence, the word "reckless" no longer carries enough weight. Tấn Sinh is not a young player new to the game. He was a member of Vietnam's U20 team and later helped Vietnam's U23 team win the SEA Games 2026 gold medal. He won the V-League with CLB Hà Nội, Công An Hà Nội and Quảng Nam. That experience makes his behaviour more serious, not more forgivable.
